RP POST: The Perils of Personal Ads

He doesn't want to take the responses, but he knows they're coming.

Well, he thinks he knows. Maybe he'll get lucky and nobody will respond at all. But Phoenix somehow doubts he's that lucky, to be honest. With his luck it's going to be some crazy person with a gun, or who is an assassin in their home dimension, or thinks the color green is really funny. Or who jumps straight to sex. That seems to be common in the Nexus.

He sits in his office, tapping his fingers nervously. Phew. He wishes he could find whoever posted that thing.

((Feel free to post responses to the personal ad here! Poor Phoenix.))

Franziska strides into Phoenix's office without even bother to knock - it hits the wall with a loud bang and there might be a large dent in the wall if Phoenix would take a closer look.

As of now, Franziska stops about a foot or so away from the desk, looking down and smirking at Phoenix. "So that desperate cry for help was you, of course." She's referring to the personal ad for Phoenix.

It doesn't occur to Franziska that answering the ad might also smack of patheticness on her part also.

[ I TOTALLY MEANT TO REPLY soooo much early. D: ]

Phoenix jumps as the door slams open, and Franziska comes in. Oh hell. Like he really needed THIS.

"Look, if you must know, I wasn't actually the one that placed that ad. And anyway, what does it matter to you?" He glares at her a bit.

Franziska continues walking towards Phoenix and the desk as she speaks. "It doesn't, really. But it merely re-affirms your pathetic and foolish state, and I had needed to come by your office, anyways." She reaches into her sleeves, and with a flourish, produces a small pile of papers and slides them towards Phoenix.

She was also lost in the Nexus. Not that you'll be able to get her to admit that.

[identity profile] wright-idea.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Phoenix smirks. "Well, this pathetic and foolish person happened to actually get a few not so pathetic and foolish hits. You might want to think about that." He takes the papers and flips through them. "What's this, anyway?"

[identity profile] karmicwhip.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Franziska scoffs, unbelieving. "Oh, stop deluding yourself. It makes you seem even more foolish." She gives a careless shrug. "My medical bill."

[identity profile] wright-idea.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
He nods. "As a matter of fact, I have a date lined up already and -- wait, what?"

Well, that threw him off.

[identity profile] karmicwhip.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, surely you remember that case? The one in which I was scheduled to be the prosecutor, but a unfortunate incident occurred and I had to be hospitalized?" Franziska smirks, choosing to ignore the first half of Phoenix's sentence.

[identity profile] wright-idea.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Phoenix flimberts for a bit. "You're charging ME with your hospital bill?!" he exclaims in disbelief. "But... but I had nothing to do with you getting shot!" Okay, nothing DIRECT. It wasn't his fault the damned assassin thought he'd be doing him a favor by taking her out, so why was he getting dinged for it?

[identity profile] karmicwhip.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh really? I suppose it was all just coincidence that I was conveniently shot on the way to the courtroom, yes? Coincidences happen around you often, I've noticed."

[identity profile] wright-idea.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Ab... bah... buh... But I can't afford this!" he finishes lamely. Why is this happening NOW?

[identity profile] karmicwhip.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I'm sure you'll think of something... After all, you're a very resourceful man, I've noticed." Franziska is smirking broadly. She's enjoying this waaaay too much.

[identity profile] wright-idea.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
"You... you really ARE heartless, you know that?" He thinks he can feel his vision fading a bit. Agh God.

[identity profile] karmicwhip.livejournal.com 2007-05-12 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Franziska can whip him, if he'd like. A little bit of pain can work wonders for a man's concentration! "My, Phoenix, you certainly know how to flatter a lady. I'm sure your date will just go along smashingly."

[identity profile] wright-idea.livejournal.com 2007-05-12 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
...goodness, that's an impressive string of obscenities from our typically soft-spoken lawyer. Children on the street may do well to cover their ears.

[identity profile] karmicwhip.livejournal.com 2007-05-12 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Franziska's answer to Phoenix's tirade is to just simply bow out, literally. Dropping into her curtsy stance, she grins smugly. "Your charity is appreciated, as always, Mr. Wright." She gives him a sickeningly sweet smile before sashaying - yes, sashaying - out of his office.

And back into the Nexus where she promptly gets lost again.
